David Spencer (Masters of Landscape Architecture, Harvard University | BLA, University of Illinois) joined Sasaki Associates/Boston as part of the master plan design team for Sea Pines Plantation on Hilton Head Island, SC. David soon incorporated Spencer & Spencer, grew the business dramatically (also served as President of The Illinois Nurseryman’s Association, now The Illinois Green Industry Association) and later relocated to Sea Pines Resort in 1981. There, Spencer’s Green Goods offered specimen plant material, landscape and environmental design, and full-service contracting to residential and commercial clientele across the southeast.
Scott Spencer studied Landscape Architecture at the University of Georgia and Iowa State University before branching into Journalism | Advertising | Marketing and Graphic Design. Scott’s experience and heritage brings the rare combination of cross-platform media design and development, creative, strategic development and environmental design. His award-winning campaigns have launched real estate developments, small businesses and the Fortune 100 through a wide range of disciplines including E-Solutions, Motion Picture/Film, TV, Radio, Web, Print and Digital Asset Management Systems (DAMS).
Mr. Spencer’s role encompasses vision development and land planning, graphic design, marketing and branding, public relations, sales and business development, strategic alliances and community relations. He created national marketing campaigns for Gables Residential Trust (REIT) that soon brought the largest public-to-private sector acquisition by ING/Clarion for $2.8 billion in 2005.
Results from his strategic planning, creative, design and execution present a who’s-who portfolio within a myriad of disciplines and technologies. He also creates encompassing, broad-scale sales and business development teams, where his executive and field management experience effectively penetrates new and existing markets on an international stage. Mr. Spencer lives for the true spirit of design and steers the successful delivery of that vision.
